LIS Joins Archer Western, Hoar Construction, MTI in Construction of the Finery

LIS has subcontracted with Archer Western, Hoar Construction, and Middle Tennesse Infrastructure (MTI) on a new development located in Nashville, Tenn. The Finery is located in Wedgewood-Houston, which is described as “Nashville’s hub for creative commerce”. The development consists of a series of three buildings comprised of office lots, retail sites, and residential areas.

Archer Western, the prime contractor on the project, contacted LIS in June of 2021. LIS began its involvement the following August along with other companies such as Hoar Construction and MTI.

Chris Conrad, LIS Vice President, stated, “Working with established professionals such as Archer Western, MTI, and Hoar Construction elevates our skill and expertise in the construction industry.”

As a sub to Archer Western, the LIS team has supplied horizontal and vertical Control for the project as well as quality control and quality assurance by providing as-built survey data to confirm the elevations and positions of the structure. LIS also performed construction staking and as-built surveys of the more critical areas such as the bioretention pond and baseline grid control. LIS continues to work closely with Archer Western to ensure that the project runs smoothly and that the requirements are met.

In addition, LIS is currently working with both Hoar Construction and MTI to provide a construction layout of lines and grades to construct concrete foundations, retaining walls, and elevators for the office building located in the Finery, which is a vital asset to the rest of the project as it is the base at which the rest of the development will be built.

A date of completion for the project has not been set at this time, however once open,  the development is sure to provide the community with a unique and beneficial experience.

“This development will enhance the Wedgewood-Houston area. With office and retail space within walking distance of the new residential development and overall neighborhood, it will be a hub of activity and fit in with the creative vibe of the area,” commented Conrad.

In the retail sector, there will be a 17,000 square-foot space which will include restaurants and retail stores. There will also be a hospitality plaza which will include public art for the Finery’s patrons.

The residential area will provide a unique environment for its residents to reside in. There will be various activities such as a club-quality fitness center, a makerspace, a speakeasy lounge, and a sky lounge pool deck that overlooks downtown.

The office building, entitled T3 for talent, technology, and timber, will pair a premium office space with mass timber construction. The design of the timber constructed building is to attract talent by using leading technology systems. The office has a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and WELL Certified. There is also access to outdoor seating on every floor.
