Staff Photo Competition - October 2023

Last year, we introduced our Staff Photo Competition. This competition allowed our staff to showcase the work they did, the locations they visited, as well as their professional and personal achievements. For our staff members, no two workdays are alike, so we received a wide range of unique photos!

Following last year’s success, we decided to toughen the competition. Some months will now have photo themes. To win a themed month, a photo should match the theme! For other months, we will accept photos of all subject matter.

Each month, one photo is chosen as the winner. Additional photo(s) are also highlighted as honorable mentions. Since the participants could submit any photo they wanted this month, we saw many creative submissions!

Submission Winner: Drew Smith

Drew Smith took this picture of his son Lincoln Isham Smith looking out of one of our surveying tools. Lincoln, an LIS legacy, is two years old and is already continuing the family tradition.

Drew is a Party Chief at LIS and is currently working out of the Paris office.

Honorable Mention: Mason Peale

While some of our survey team was out in Las Vegas for the Commerical UAV (Unmanned Ariel Vehicle) Expo Conference, Mason Peale took a picture of this right-of-way marker on the Las Vegas strip. At the conference, our team got to attend several informational sessions, observe different types of drones, and network with other colleagues in the field.

Mason is one of our Professional Land Surveyors and works out of the Paris office.
