Staff Photo Competition - September 2023

Last year, we introduced our Staff Photo Competition. This competition allowed our staff to showcase the work they did, the locations they visited, as well as their professional and personal achievements. For our staff members, no two workdays are alike, so we received a wide range of unique photos!

Following last year’s success, we decided to toughen the competition. Some months will now have photo themes. To win a themed month, a photo should match the theme! For other months, we will accept photos of all subject matter.

Each month, one photo is chosen as the winner. Additional photo(s) are also highlighted as honorable mentions. Since the participants could submit any photo they wanted this month, we saw many creative submissions!

Submission Winner: Bradford Jones

Bradford Jones took this picture while doing a survey marker that is located on Snooper’s Rock which is in Prentice Cooper State Forest, near Chattanooga. Snooper’s Rock got its name from revenuers using the vantage point as a lookout for moonshiners during prohibition. There’s a still on display in the forest as well.

Bradford is a Survey Technician at LIS and is currently working out of the Nashville office.

Honorable Mention: Nick Haberman

While working on a project for Barnard in Cumberland City, Nick Haberman sent in this picture of our tools in action. The crew needed to quantify how much rock they were going to need to reach the required elevation.

Nick currently serves the role as Party Chief at the Nashville office and is also one of our military personnel.

Some of our staff participated in a golf tournament hosted by the Association of General Contractors of America for the Murray State Construction Program. Pictured left to right is Jackson Miller (a student at Murray State), Caleb Orr, Patrick Smith, and Chris Conrad.

Caleb is one of our new Project Administrators for construction at LIS.
